Community Outreach

We Believe In Being An Active Community Partner!

When you build something as personal as a home, you understand the importance of adding to the foundation of not only the residence, but to the community the home is built in as well. Chesapeake Homes strives to be an active community partner by involving our company and our employees in support of charities and organizations that lift up the citizens and make the areas we build in a better place. We utilize our strength in the cities and communities we build in to impart a sense of giving and awareness that hopefully will improve the lives of all residents – not just the ones living in our homes. Join us in support of the charitable organizations we sponsor, and make a difference in the lives of those around you!

Susan G. Komen

In 2010, Chesapeake Homes decided to become a sponsor of the Southeastern region’s Susan G. Komen Tidewater affiliate.  We began small, offering up an eager race team for the organization’s yearly Race for the Cure® and helping Komen’s mission by sharing important information about breast cancer causes, support and services available locally.  Chesapeake Homes decided to brand its partnership “Build Awareness For Breast Cancer,” and each year the message is spread through our support.  In 2013, the North Carolina division of Chesapeake Homes began support of the Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to Coast affiliate, and now both divisions have increased their support and are holding fundraising events for each affiliate in an effort to help Susan G. Komen’s local affiliates in any way that we can.

Operation Coming Home

Chesapeake Homes’ North Carolina division was invited in 2012 to participate in the building of a Hero Home in 2013 as part of the organization Operation:  Coming Home or OCH.   OCH was created by a group of local veterans called Triangle Real Estate & Construction Veterans (TREACV) and members from the Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County as a project for severely wounded veterans. The mission was to aid a local military service member who were severely wounded in combat, by fulfilling his/her family desire to live the American Dream of home ownership.  On Nov. 7, 2013, Chesapeake Homes handed the key to Hero Home Six to Army Ranger Nathan Rimpf.  The tremendous outpouring of support by Chesapeake Homes’ vendors and subcontractors has inspired us to seek out similar opportunities in our Virginia region, and possibly again in North Carolina.

Sam & Reba Sandler Foundation

Every year, Chesapeake Homes and its vendors participate in the annual Sam and Reba Sandler Golf Tournament in support of local charities The Holocaust Commission and The Families of Autistic Children in Tidewater. Since 1996, the tournament has been held to honor the memories of the parents of the company’s owners - Sam and Reba Sandler - by remembering the spirit of their dedication to their community and to their fellow man, and by giving back and caring for others and supporting ideas and values that we all cherish. The contributions made to these organizations is our part in making the world a better place.
