Posted in North Carolina News Division On July 25th, 2017

With the last few weeks of Summer on our tails, what better time than now to gather the kids and spend some quality family-time in the Triangle? With communities throughout the Triangle, Chesapeake Homes wants to make sure you squeeze in as much family fun as possible. From outdoor movies to weekend story times, the possibilities for your last days of Summer are endless!

Take A Wildlife Adventure. With the recently opened North America region, the North Carolina Zoo will give a full day of adventures for both children and adults! Take a ride on the open-air bus adventure through a 40-acre grassland habitat featuring African animals such as rhinoceros or antelope. Paddle across the picturesque lake that borders Marsh Boardwalk with dragonfly paddle boats. For added adventure, navigate through the Air Hike obstacle course with 11 treetop platforms. End your day with a 4-D show in Junction Plaza filled with T-Rex and dinosaur-saving!

Enjoy A Good Story. With a passion for educating youth, the Triangle has a variety of locations for local storytelling. Whether you’re looking for afternoon storytelling during the week or morning storytelling over the weekend, find a place and time that works well for your schedule here.

Experience A Hands-On Exhibit. Fill the car and spend the day at Marbles Kids Museum in the historical district of Raleigh. The children will be in awe with larger than life movies in the Wells Fargo IMAX Theatre. Watch as they interact with the three-story, 42-foot globe filled with vivid videos and information.  Give the family a day of interactive learning!

Watch A Lift Off. Visit the RDU Observation Park to watch planes land and take off from the Raleigh-Durham International Airport’s 10,000-foot runway. With a nearby Air Traffic Control Center, listen to pilot communications. Enjoy an additional kids’ play area and dining center for the perfect end to a day.

Ride A Carousel. Take a step back in time at Pullen Park with a miniature train, 1911 carousel, and kiddie paddle boats for small-pond traveling. Watch as the kids play while experiencing a park filled with history!

Listen To Live Music Galore.  The Triangle offers live music throughout the Summer for outdoor enjoyment in the beautiful weather! Try the Midtown Music Beach Series at North Hills in Raleigh or the Back Porch Music on the Lawn Series in downtown Durham.

From any of Chesapeake Homes’ communities in the Triangle, get to family-centered fun in just a short drive! Take joy in your last weeks of Summer with these family-friendly activities provided by your local home builder, Chesapeake Homes.
