4 Easy Stay-at-Home Valentine's Day Date Ideas

I think we all know the most hated day of the week is Monday, and unfortunately this year Valentine’s Day falls on a Monday. Not just any Monday, but Super Bowl Monday, arguably the worst Monday of all Mondays! While some people may opt for a weekend Valentine’s Date, that won’t work for everyone as reservations fill up on weekends, COVID restrictions narrow options, and Super Bowl plans begin to interfere.

That’s why we went ahead and put together a list of easy Valentine’s Date ideas for you and your significant other to enjoy from the comfort of your own home!

Dinner and a Movie

In 2022, this iconic date night has never been easier to accomplish from your own home. With multiple movie streaming options that have become a staple in most households, you can turn your living room into a movie theater in a matter of seconds! This date can be accomplished in a pinch by ordering some food from one of your favorite restaurants using apps such as Door Dash or Uber Eats. Before you know it, you’ve got your dinner at the door before you have even decided on a movie from Netflix!

To add a nice touch to this date idea, consider making dinner together. There’s plenty of recipes littered throughout the internet that are perfect meals to cook together no matter how skilled you are in the kitchen. The part that matters is you make it and enjoy it (hopefully) together, spending that quality time while doing so.

Wine and Charcuterie, for Two

If movies aren’t your thing, then maybe opting for a bottle of wine and a homemade charcuterie board will interest you. This simple date night activity will have you feeling like you’re out on the town in no time. Plus, who doesn’t love wine and cheese?

Whether you plan ahead or stop by the store after work on Monday, select a nice bottle of wine to enjoy and take a stroll through the cheese section and find a couple nice cheeses to try. If you want, you can look up what cheeses pair nicely with the wine you have selected to add a nice touch to the charcuterie. The nice part about charcuterie is you can put whatever you want on there, so make it unique!

Plan a Future Vacation

Just because Valentine’s Day falls on a Monday, doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy your quality time together later in the year! Use Valentine’s Day as a relaxed evening and peruse the internet for your next vacation destination. We all love to go on vacation, but that time off doesn’t happen unless you plan for it!

You can even make a game out of it: both of you select 3 possible destinations and present them to one another! Once you have agreed one which one sounds the best, you can begin planning how long you want to be there, what time of year, and all the activities you would want to accomplish while on your vacation! The best part is you have vacations for the following 5 years as well. 😊

Spa Night

This idea should potentially be a weekly routine after a long Monday, but no better time to test it out than on Valentine’s Day! Bust out your favorite robe and prepare to enjoy a Monday…for once. If you have access to a jacuzzi or hot tub you could enjoy a nice dip in there, or you can take turns practicing your masseuse skills! Whatever you do is totally up to you as long as you are relaxed and soothing your mind.

Hopefully the ideas above spark some inspiration for your Valentine’s Day if you are stuck at home. The best part about these ideas is you can mix and match however you’d like or change a few things to make them your own! At the end of the day, no matter what you decide to do, just make sure to enjoy the quality time together with that special person you love!
